CD Layout Bar

Engineer wrote on 2/19/2003, 10:37 PM
I have purchased CDA V5 from Sonic foundry, and I need to create CD markers in a long file. I put the mouse where I want it then press T key. At first nothing showed on the file, but I noticed in the manual (page 11) there is a bar CD LAYOUT BAR that shows where I have placed each CD marker. This bar does not show up on my copy, so I dont know if there is a CD marker there or not. The CD marker bar is just below the file.
Can some one help me in placing the CD bar so it can be seen.

It *should* be there, and is not one of the fields switch-off-able in the View menu.

Have you submitted the problem to SF support ?

Hi geoff, This has taken me several e mails to sound forge with no result, so I have resulted in this.
I have even sent accros to them a screen shot of the problem, with no propper answer

I didn't believed what you had experienced, so I checked it out - and I did manage the CD layout bar to go away!

If the upper section of CDA is narrowed in height, the CD layout bar goes away.

So, make the height of the lower part with Explorer/Master/FX etc smaller. Otherwise, I neat feature if you have big FX ducked windows.

Ahaaa - I did it too. To get the tracks bar back, grab the 'frame' between the transport control bar and the lower section (Media Poll, Trimmer, or whatever is selected), and drag it down. When CDA thinks it has enough screen real estate to meaningfully display the tracks bar, it will pop out.

Hope the lack of response from SF is purely because they are busy ....

Thanks guys, after 1 month email back and forth to SF I with your help have finally got it right. I tried to open it up but must have been trying in the wrong place, but now its all OK.

Hope the SF team have read this then ...

Maybe we should take over part of the SF support ;-)

I have seen a lot of complains about SF support, and wondering what is going on.

Those guys that have been on the forums for a long time, is SF support just as usual or has it worsened?

SF Support _used_ to be very decent, however whenever I have an issue now,
I just post it here. Either someone will confirm that 'it's a bug', or
'I have seen that as well, this is how I fixed it.'

I haven't seen the SF team frequent these boards lately...
(Maybe they are all working on the new patch for CDA)...
