CD preferences reboot computer

Weird problem. When I go to Option|Preferences & click the CD Settings tab, the computer very quickly flashes a blue screen, then the computer reboots.

I've updated to 3.0a b107, using WinXP Pro with ATI AIW Radeon 6.13.10.6015 (although I can't see it being a video driver problem). I've got TDK 321040 IDE and Yamaha 6416S SCSI burners installed. Also have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.02d platinum and the WinXP patch for that. Hope that's enough info...

Anyone else experience this?

First, turn off auto-rebooting in CP>System>Advanced>Startup & Recovery so you can study the resulting error. Turn off the memory dumps while you're in there - nobody can actually read those things anyway.

Sure does sound like a cd problem. I had lots of pain trying to get my Plextor going in XP (my Yamaha 4416S always worked perfectly). Eventually I had to dump Roxio for Nero (though I've always preferred EZCD).

Also turn off the built-in CD Burning service just to simplify, though I think EZCD may have already done that for you. Start>Run>compmgmt.msc>Services>IMAPI CD-Rom Burning. I have mine set to 'manual' but I imagine you could safely disable it.
