I just purchased the Casio CW75 cd printer tonight... $129 and seems pretty good so far after a few tests. Compact size, easy operation, can be used standalone.
The text was clear, and could not be smudged or scratched off. I got a very slight smudge if I applied a GREAT dela of pressure with my finger. Normal wear wont do a thing to it.
The only drawback is that it will not print on CDs that have vendor printing on the front...well it will print, but anywhere the surface differs will not get printed due to the change in smoothness.. you need to use cds that are completely blank on the front.
There is a cw50 model that sells for $99 at Staples...it does not operate standalone...only difference.
There is a $10 or $15 rebate on these currently.
After a little more continued use, I will post more feedback review of it.
