CDA5 needs internet access?

Just installed Norton firewall and when I fired
up CDA5 beta Norton popped up and said that CDA
wanted access to the internet.
Im just wanting to know why CDA wants to check the
internet?

All SonicFoundry software does this. It's checking to see if there's a new update available for download, and it will inform you if one is found. You may turn this off under Options/Preferences.
