ok, i'm sorta stupid about computer stuff, and i'm wondering how i can find out what kind of CD burner i have. basically, its just the one that came with my computer, which is a Compaq, but the burner has no sort of brand name or any form of identification on it. i just want to know what kind of CD-R drive i have to make sure its compatible with CDA5, because i am interested in getting CDA5. please help!

check in device manager...click the "+" sign beside the entry for cd drives and it should give the brand of the drive.

all it says is IDE-CD R/RW 4x4x24. is that the brand name or something? is it supported? so if the drive isnt supported by CDA5, theres really nothing i can do huh...except maybe get a better drive, hehe.

Why don't you download the demo and give that a try? You'd then have your answer about whether your drive would work with it or not.

Sorry my suggestion did not help...On my systems Win2000 and WinXP the brand of the CD or CDRW drives are listed in device manager.
