Center channel is off

I am editing a sound project in Vegas 4 with 5.1 setting on. When I try to play or assign any track to center channel I get sound from right and left channel and none from center channel. Sound level indicator is also indicationg no signal. I do have 5.1 sound setup with 6 speakers.

When I render all these channels to 6 mono channels center channel file contains 0 signal and Left right signal files have center channel channel signal added to them.

How can I get center channel working?

double click on the surround panner to bring up a dialog box; on the bottom you'll see a slider labeled CENTER - adjust the slider as needed. You'll always get a certain amount of sound from right and left as well, but using the slider you can increase the level of center in relationship to right/left.

Oh, left clicking in the dialo box will also allow you to adjust the levels of right/left in relationship to center.
