Challenge - Import Pro Tools sessions

Purely selfish reasons here (not purely - others are interested too !) , but is it possible for somebody to write a script to import ProTools OMF exported sessions into Vegas ?

I would be happy to PAY for such a script, but maybe not the $200+ that Cui-Bono want for EDL-Convert, especially as that doesn't appear to work reliably.

Grateful any thoughts (or scripts !!!).

If you want someone to write code -- whether it works to your liking or not -- you'll probably have to pay a good deal more than $200. Good software engineers are getting close to $100,000 a year out here.

This is not a trivial problem to solve. OMF is based upon Bento, a object-oriented format developed by Apple Computer for their ill-fated OpenDoc system. OMF consists of a number of definitions (constructed in Bento objects) that relate to the description and control of streaming media. Creating a script that can read this would probably not be worth a programmer’s time unless they could sell it commercially for say $200+. ;-)

You’re best bet is to buy the Cui-Bono software and get them to fix whatever doesn’t work.
