Champagne for the 200th post

The "OT: Special Effects Quote of the Day" thread has got up to 114 post this morning and while I personally feel it has run it's course, Spot has reminded me that it has become the custom for me to donate a bottle of Champagne when a thread here goes over 200 posts.

I'm not sure of the exact rules, whether the bottle goes to the 200th poster (or to Spot?) or whatever - (perhaps you may remind me Spot) - or I may give it Spot's company (VASST) to give out at the NAB party if they are having one this year.

The amazing thing about that thread is that, with a few exceptions, differing opinions are debated with far more respect than on the religious sites.

Hmmmmmm.....

I've watched that thread with great curiosity/disdain/apprehension (depends on the mood, or the tone of the post I guess); this is, after all a forum on Vegas Video. However, a good point has been made that respect has been shown to all points of view….I suppose that is s good thing. It’s been interesting to glance at from time to time, a lot of effort and thought has been put into it. Maybe it will be a great help to someone; giving a chance for one to debate their beliefs often helps strengthen them.

Good luck….now back to what I come here for….

LOL, we're having the party for certain. Just not sure which night, waiting for NAB to get back with us on the avail. Hopefully it will be our preferred tuesday night.

To me none of this is very OT, "Vegas" has religious connotations anyway, what does it mean again? All things to all men?
Used by a devote secretive group to produce a hand crafted product, we work in silence in darkened rooms. So to which "Order" do we belong, Trappist, Carthusian or Capuchins?

On a serious note, I think the champagne should go to the first person who gets someone to change their opinion, although I doubt there'll be any winners but if there is can they please start attending FCP user group meetings.

It may be because Vegas editors are used to being persecuted like the early Christians who were thrown to the lions. :O)

Seriously, Vegas editors are used to not being so respected compared to Avid or FCP.

That could make them more tolerant of people who have different ideas about NLEs or religions.
