Change Background Color?

I tried Options > Preferences > Video > Default > out in white in both squares and also choose Whit in the window but can't seem to get Vegas to go from black to white background.
Help?

Why not just insert a solid color using generated media? It's easier, and more normal. Just make sure it's 235/235/235. You can run it the whole length of the project if you want.
