change project properties

My first two Vegas projects were easy. Somehow on my third, the project properties were set incorrectly. All of the text is fuzzy. I go to file>project properties and change it to the same settings as the first two projects. I click apply. When I go back, the settings say they are changed. But the type is still fuzzy.
Obviously something is not changing to the new settings. What am I doing wrong?

What are your preview settings?

Preview playback rate in Vegas is 29.97 fps. Preview in Architect is Best. If you want to know more than that, you will have to tell me where to look.

I don't think this is a preview problem. My first two projects were done at the NTSCDV setting. Both have clear text both in preview and on the DVDs that I burned. This third project was mistakenly done at NTSC VideoCD. The text is fuzzy both in preview and on a DVD.

I can create a new project with the NTSCDV setting and put in the exact same text. It is beautiful. What I can't do is change the project properties on the faulty project. I could start over on this project, but I'm not eager to redo the work when the manual indicates that I can override the settings.

...mistakenly done at NTSC VideoCD. The text is fuzzy...

Yep. VideoCD is only 352 x 240 so your results are no surprise.

...the manual indicates that I can override the settings.

Try this and see if it works.
File - Properties - Video Tab. In the Template box, change the setting from NTSC Video CD (352x240, 29.970 fps) to NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps).
Now hit Apply. You may also want to select the box that says "Start all new projects with these settings" so you won't have this problem in the future.
Assuming your original files were the correct size, this should work. You'll still have to render it out again though :-)

Thanks Mike,
Your comment about original files was the key to figuring out what was wrong. For the sake of someone else who does a search, I will answer my own question.

When you change the Project Properties, if the picture files are big enough, they automatically change. However text events that were created in Vegas at a lower resolution do not change. I deleted them and recreated them under the correct Project Properties and it worked great.

Rather than deleting and recreating the text events, you can open each one and change the properties there. That may (or may) not be easier than recreating all of them.
