You can use UltimateS Pro or Excalibur to do this for you. I know UltimateS will do it, but I don't own Excalibur so I don't know for sure.

You can download the free trials from vasst.com or jetdv.com

It will but, in this case, I'm not sure changing the lengths of the crossfades is what you really want to do. That would get your multi-cam out of sync if you simply move the events to make the crossfades smaller.

Instead, I'd adjust the length of each event to be slightly shorter which will make the crossfades smaller as well but will keep everything in sync. Excalibur can do that too.

Ed,
You are correct. I wish to keep the cut in the same place with a shorter crossfade. Will version 5 do this? If so how? I don't wish to seem dim, but if version 5 does I cannot figure out how.

First, make sure all the events are selected. Then go to the Velocity/Duration tab. You want the Set Duration tool. Now enter a minus sign and then length you want to REMOVE from the crossfade. For example, if the crossfade is currently 30 frames and you want it to be 10 frame, enter "-00:00:00:20". Now make sure the "Proportional Change" box is checked. Then run the tool and they'll all be adjusted.

Ed,
You are the best! I tried your suggestion and it worked. Thanks so much.

If there's one thing that keeps me working with Vegas on a PC rather than FCP on a Mac, it's scripting, and in particular Excalibur, Ultimate S, and now Production Assistant. Want to make an FCP editor go green with envy? Show him a little of what these high powered tools can do!
