Changes to Default Media Stream Properties?

Background:

I spent several years using Vegas to edit Vuze and Vuze+ 3D 360 video using Sony V13 and several generations of Magix Vegas on a Windows 7 desktop. Primarily because the Vuze software wouldn't run on W7 and I didn't want to upgrade to W10. By the time I finally got a W10, and now a W11, laptop I had stopped using those cameras so never noticed the problem I am about to describe before.

The Vuze cameras consist of 4 3D lens pairs taking 3D video in all directions. To create the 3D 360 videos the resulting 8 images have to be stitched into a left and right 360 videos then combined into a top/bottom full 3D 360 video.

By loading one of the camera files into V13 I discovered they contain 2 video streams and 2 audio streams, all of which display correctly in V13. This was a big deal at the time because nobody (in the customer population) knew how they were arranged and Premier didn't display this.

The problem:

Today, when I tried loading a Vuze video file into V21 (and V19, and V18) they would only display the first video stream, but still displayed both audio tracks. Unfortunately, the video I want to work with is in the second stream.

I went ahead and installed Sony V13 and tried loading the same file and it displayed both video and both audio tracks, as before. I saved the V13 project file then loaded it into V21 resulting in the following error message:

So...has there been a change to the way media streams are recognized?

Is there something I can change in preferences?

Is this just because I saved the V13 project with the first video stream muted? (I'll test this myself.)

Here is a link to the file I am trying to edit:

So...in different thread (which I can't find yet...) this was hashed out and the upshot was that the ability to read files with multiple video tracks was disabled in V15. I was hoping that functionality would have been restored in V22 but I just tried and V22 still can't read Vuze files. Furthermore, my trick of adding the file in V13, saving the project, and opening the project in V22 just caused V22 to crash!

@VEGASDerek: Any update on this issue? This is a valuable feature that Vegas used to be able to do and other editors can't.

Have you tried using the Legacy decoder?

@mark-y: just tried, didn't help.

It's funny because if you look at the video properties in the project media it shows both video tracks, but only the first video track is added to the timeline.

This is a known bug, introduced in V15. It was discussed in a couple of threads and private messages earlier in the year, this is just the only thread on the subject I could easily find...

I was told it was being worked on. Was hoping for an update since I've had a couple of projects this year where I need it & V22 reacted so badly when I tried last night.
