Changing certain shortcuts

I want to change certain shortcuts like inserting the default transition on a cut by using the slash next to the num lock key (I'm using Vegas 6), but I can't seem to figure out how to change it in the keyboard section of the projects. I can call it up by inserting the preset shortcut (/), and it comes up as TrackView Insert.Transition or something but I can't get it to show up on the list so I can change it.

You're nearly there.
You've got it showing up when you enter your "Num /".
Now click on locate, and it will find it in the prefs accordingly. Type in the new shortcut you want to use in the "shortcut keys" and click replace. Job done,

Vegas 6 must not have the locate button, because I don't see it anywhere. There is only: assign, remove, import, export and default all. The box saying "Key is also assigned to:" says "(TrackView) Insert.Transition1", which if I insert in the "Show only commands containing...", doesn't show up at all.

[I was going by Vegas 8 & 7]

What happens, if you remove the 'Num/' and then enter in a new key combo and click on assign?

I don't have Vegas 6 to help you any more constructively...

Here is what I see:

Thanks, but I think I can't change it using Vegas 6, because I only make it show up by pressing the / key in the one box, but there is no actual option up for me to assign that Insert.Transition function to something else.

Change Context from "Global" to "Trackview" or "Tracklist." According to that screenshot, you're looking at Global shortcuts. (Insert.Transition1 can only be used when a track has the focus.) Once you do that, you'll be able to find it in the Available Commands box.

Thanks! That did the trick.
