Changing default length of stills

When I add still photos to my projects, they are all automatically 5 seconds long. Is there any way to change that default so that I don't have to manually change the length of each photo if, say, I want them all to be 3 seconds? Or, IS there a way to select all the photos in the project and change their length all at once?

Yes you can change the default length of a still image.

If you are using MS3, then you have to go to the Internal tab of Preferences. To get there, go the Options menu, then hold down the shift key when you click on Preferences. Go to the Internal tab, then type Still in the "Show only prefs containing:" edit field at the bottom of the window. A field name called ntDefVideoStillLength will appear in the list showing a Value of 50,000,000 and a Default of 50,000,000. This translates into 5 seconds. If you wanted to change the length of all still dropped on the timeline to 3 seconds, then change the Value to 30,000,000.

In MS4, the option is available in the Preferences under the Video tab (I think it is here). I am not at my home computer and am still new to MS4. There is a spin button control that will allow you to change the length much easier then in MS3.

Hope this helps...

Thank you so much for the help! Boy, I never would have found that by myself. Mission accomplished... thanks a bunch!
