changing media order

Hi, I am sorry if this is a daft question but this is driving me nuts. If I drag media files onto a page to make a menu how can I change the menu selection order? The only way I can see of doing this is to drag the media files in the order I want them. This is not very convenient if I want to change the order later!

Thanks for your help

Mark

That is the only way I know. The order is picked automatically by the program. So, just be sure you place then in the order you want them picked.

That was what I feared. Surely an obvious omission! Mark...

Mark,

You CAN change the object order. First, make sure you have selected Options - Show Object Order so you will see the number assigned to each button. By default, DVD-A assigns the numbers in the order you drag them onto your menu. After you drag all your elements onto the page, select the item you want as Menu Choice 1 (e.g. the first button in your menu you want to be highlighted - the default button). Select Edit - Object Order and select Move to Bottom. This will assign that button the Number 1. Select each button and move it forward or backward so each is assigned the order you want. You can move your objects forward or back or to top or to bottom. Then, once you have the order selected, choose Edit - Reapply Theme Layout. This will reorder your objects on the menu screen based on the number they have been assigned (lowest number first to highest number last). Do a preview to make sure the navigation buttons go from 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Any title or other text you have on the screen will have a number assigned to it but it will be ignored when navigating.

The way DVD-A lets you do this is not very intuitive (to me) but it works. Personally, I would like to be able to position the objects visually and then be able to automatically assign the object order based on their position on the menu but we can't do that (yet).
