Changing the color of a track when muted (V15)

Julius_ wrote on 9/8/2017, 5:03 PM

So I installed the new Vegas V15...so far so good..getting used to the new layout..trying the new dark look...when I mute a track, I can hardly tell it's muted because it's almost black on black...anyway to change the color when the mute button is pressed for all tracks?

Thanks

I had the same problem. But I had the icon color set at 40%. When I moved it back to 100%, the button mute state was easier to see.

Thanks...where did you set the icon color to 100%?

I don't know if it's cause I'm red/green color deficient (12% of men are) but I can't get adjusted to the new color scheme.

Is there a way to make it look plain jane like V10->14?

I can't work w/ 15 as it is. Everything looks the same to me.

-> View/Windows Layout/Vegas 14 Standard

Doesn't that just set the layout to v14 like; not all the colours?

(I have been tweeking the heck out of v15 to get it to look very similar to v14, so I don't want to test this right now.)

@joseph-w

I had the same initial reaction... found it much harder to distinguish individual event edges than in V14 etc. Part of the problem is that the new event bar obscures the event notches, but there also appears to be a subtle change in the event border pixels - the "shadow" line is missing. The colour "behavior" is also a little different when an event is selected, which makes sense for the dark interface but not as good if you want a very light look. For me the solution has been to set a middle grey track colour that allows event detail to be seen when selected or not. I think the future option to eliminate the event bar will also help. I don't know if the "shadow" line will return - would be nice.

Yes - unfortunately the option for "Vegas 14 Standard" that was mentioned only changes the window layout (nothing to do w/ colors).

Do you have a color deficiency by chance? I do and I think that may be why I'm finding version 15 almost impossible to edit with. Current workflow is Vegas 14 for everything editing, save a "V15" .VEG file, then render out of Vegas 15 for the speed. Still w/in the trial period.

I am not colour deficient, but still have difficulty seeing events clearly on the v15 timeline. I have been successful, however, in tweaking it to look very similar to v14.
