Changing the order of an object linked to media

When I turn on Show Object Order, plain text and graphic objects have a number displayed next to them. Objects with links have two numbers. The first number is apparently the order of the object on the menu and the small numbers are the order of the text and graphic within the object. The Move Up and Move Down commands only seem to effect the second number, which seems fairly useless to me. Does anyone know how to change the first number?

Of course as soon as I posted my question I figured it out. You have to have both the graphic and text portions of the object selected.
