Changing the rate

When I change the rate on the slider on the bottom left of my video the rate at which the video plays back is increased. In doing this the voices are higher pitch and every thing moves slightly faster, when I click play this works perfectly but when I click preview it runs at a normal speed meaning I cant render at this higher rate.

I tried control-drag but this doesnt give the same pitch with the voices. It seems doing it this way it speeds up the video not the rate.

So my question is how do I increase the rate so that I can render with that rate.

Thanks for any and all help.

The rate slider is ONLY for scrubbing through the video while previewing it. It has no effect on anything else at all, and is not intended to.

Use Ctrl-drag to speed up the video. Then right-mouse-button click on the audio track, choose properties, set the time stretch / pitch shift method to 'Classic' and check the 'Lock to stretch' box.
