changing vegas 12 render templates

trying to change bitrate on a mp4 render... wont let set me anything but the options sony has preloaded... for example I want 40,000,000 it will default to 50 or 28// /won't let me type in , went back to vegas 10 made my custom template , then opened 12 and used it fine..but thats weird to have to do... am i missing something here?

I'm still on Vegas 11, but your issue sounds familiar...
Is this on Sony's or Main Concept's encoder? I had this problem with Sony MP4 templates on V11. Couldn't create custom bitrates for new templates. Added bonus(?) - when I created templates with non-standard (something not offered in the drop-down) bitrates in V10 and brought them into 11, renders crashed every time. Rendering with these new templates in V10 were fine.

Using only Main Concept now and not seeing these problems.

This was mainconcept... might be on others have not checked,, been fighting crash city on several other fronts!! But did get my template from 10 to render out in 12

Yes, just tried it, changed both the constant and variable bitrates no problem. vegas 12 windows 8 x64.
