Chapter markers

what file type works best, for video files played from a USB harddrive connected to an LG BD570/BD590, in trying to use chapter markers for "Next/Prev" like in Blueray/DVD???

I see info all over the place that MP4's support chapter markers but cannot find a tool, for WinXP, to do it

Those are different chapter markers than are used for either Blu-Ray or DVD (although they can be extracted from those media).

But since you asked, Drax (freeware) adds and edits chapters in .m4v files (renamed from .mp4) for iPods, iPhones, players like VLC, and the like. The author has also enabled it to use Vegas markers exported to a text file (very handy).
