Chapter Markers and MC AVC *.mp4

I am not seeing Chapter Markers in DVDA v5.2 for Vegas Pro 11.0 rendered Main Concept AVC/AAC (*.mp4) using the BluRay 1920x1080-60i 24 Mbps template.

The Vegas *mp4 render does not have an associated *.sfl file, but based on earlier threads I understood the Chapter Marker data is stored as metadata info in the MP4 and not as a separate *.sfl.

I choose the MainConcept over the Sony AVC as the MainConcept supported 24 Mbps AVC renders, matching my source AVC material.

Any idea why I am not seeing the Vegas Chapter markers in DVDA 5.2 with this render type?

I was able to generate a .mp4 file with markers using Vegas 9 and 10 using the default template and modifying the bitrate. You are right, there is no .sfl file.

However when I used Vegas 11 I could not find any Blu-ray templates for MainConcept AVC, so I modified one for the internet. I tried both Main and High profile, but in both cases I got an error message with the unhelpful comment that "the cause of the error could not be determined".

So you got further than me. Sorry I can't help.

I presume you had the "generate marker" box ticked, didn't you?

Peter,

Yes I did have the "Save project markers in rendered media file" checked.

As the Main Concept AVC CODEC appears not to allow changing the container from the MP4 default, I'll go back to the Sony AVC CODEC.
