Chapter Menu

I have added chapter markers to my project.

Is there any way of using these (or other method) to create a chapter menu on the finished project?

Whereby your finished Blu-Ray (or DVD) provides an opening menu screen with choices of playing the whole disc or going directly to particular chapters?

There is an option in the Sony Vegas Movie Studio:

"Tools - Burn Disc - Blu Ray Disc - Insert chapter points at markers"

but as far as I can see this is not for creating an opening menu with chapter choices. It is intended to assist navigation whilst compiling a project.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

If you use DVDA your markers from the project becomer your chapters which you can title as you wish.

When you draw the rendered project into the blue square, Right Click to give you the option whether to have chapters and the number to appear on each page. The first selection on both the opening menu and the first page should be Play All.

Right, VMS does not support authoring Blu-ray discs with menus. At least not with v9.

Richard, DVDA doesn't support Blu-ray authoring, only straight from VMS.

But with the announcement of VMS v10 that is supposed to be less than a week away, we'll see if SCS has added it to DVDA.

Thanks for this info. I didn't know that there was new version of VMS due. I hope that it will include improvements around chapters and menus. In the meantime, I will check out whether some other edit programmes would give me the features I am looking for.

Before I purchase VMS 10; can a blu-ray disc be created with menus and chapters (as with a DVD in DA of VMS 9.0b)?

The information for VMS 10 on the update site indicates that it can but I would like confirmation from some of you that have purchased it because when I read the information on VMS9.0b (which I bought) it lead me to believe that it made blu-ray discs with menus (it doesn't).

Thank you!
