Chapter Menu "Wrapping"

yirm wrote on 4/6/2003, 12:50 PM
When you create chapter menus, the arrows to navigate these menus are automatically generated. The first menu allows you to go "up" and "next." The last menu allows you to go "up" and "back." What I'd like would be to be able to wrap. So that from the first chapter menu you can navigate to the last menu, and from the last menu you can navigate to the first. Anyway of doing this?

There is no current way of doing this.

The inability to do that is also, apparently, true in the making of "commercially produced" DVDs.
For example, in DVDs I've purchased of Hollywood movies, concerts, etc. if there's more than one page of scene selections, I can't go from one page of selections to the next, without going through the top-level "directory" of selection-pages each time.
It's not a DVDA-specific limitation.

Not totally true. In DVDit, I can create menus that will point to any other menu.

Same with DVD Complete. Maybe it's "out of spec" but supported by some players, but I doubt it, because the DVD Complete documentation usually tells you when something doesn't comply to spec but may work (e.g., the use of MPEG audio in NTSC DVDs).

The inability of DVD Architect to provide specific end of play behavior and the root menu button to return to sub menu has been very well documented in this forum. Look thru older threads and you will find a lot of info.
