OK, I am going bonkers tying to figure this out, I have a video that is 3 hours long with 9 chapter points. When I preview it from DVDA it plays fine, after the compiling process, the dvd starts at chapter 7. I have retried it building a new menu but cannot get it to work. I built a short 5 minute DVD the exact same way an it worked fine what is worng!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!

No idea.... While 3 hours is a very long time for a DVD video that shouldn't cause what you see.

Have you tried to play it on your PC with something other that DVD-A?

About the only thing that makes some sense would be to get that much on you had to use a pretty low bitrate. How low did you go?

Billy,

I've gotten up to 4 hours of video that still looks nice and clean before. True, the bitrate was lower...but it was still sweet.

Anyway - although you say it previews fine in DVDA...still check your chapter start points and make sure that the first chapter point you have isn't a 7 instead of a 1.

You did not slide the green marker by any chance to chapter 7?
I my be mistaken, but the green marker is the starting point.

No - the starting point is at the start. I have even recreated the problem, but th is time it goes to chapter 2 on every chapter selection.

Thanks

can you post a screen shot of where you set the chapter points?

Look CAREFULLY at the DVD-A timeline for the video in question.

I just did this myself yesterday. Not sure what I did, but..

Note that normally at the far left the chapter indicator for the FIRST chapter starts at the extreme left and is GREEN in color. All the other chapter markers you add are ORANGE in color.

Well, somehow I was adding chapters, my finger slipped I guess and I hit the wrong key or something and the seventh chapter I was working on ended up as a green marker. It just happened to catch my eye. Sure eoungh when playing it back the project now started from that point. Deleting the bad marker fixed it.
