I dont even know where to begin I am making a high school lacrosse highlight dvd . Starts with video clips from the games and with music. After about 40 mins of that there are pictures. Is there any way on the main screen when you put the dvd in that there is a link to PLAY ALL , PLAY VIDEO, PLAY PICTURES. So if someone wants to get directly to the pictures they dont have to go through the video first. Hope you all can understand my question. Thanks

What has been easiest for me is to create separate files for each video, whether video or slideshow. When you drag these into VMS each will be a separate entity, of course. Now select each one separately and choose (right-hand side of the screen) what you want to happen when that particular one is over....continue to (whatever segment you choose), loop back around to the start, etc. Now you can select any one to view as a starting point, or you can let it run all the way through.
Hope this helps.

karlthek, are you combining these files in VMS or in Architect Studio?

Also, is the right-hand side of the screen in the Properties Window?

In DVD Architect if you open up a clip you'll see a menu on the right side of the screen. Click on "End Action". A submenu appears underneath it. One of the items is Destination and will say "most recent menu". Click on the pulldown and choose the name of the clip you want to go to instead of returning to the menu. You'll be able to select any other item on the DVD. Of course, you will have to have already added the destination item or you won't be able to select it.

I keep the mpg files separate (until I accumulate enough to fill a DVD) and then pick each one up in DVD Architect. Keeping them separate also makes it possible to make changes before the final burn. The "Properties" window also lets you make your title animated if you like, in addition to modifying the destination links.
Note also that you can call the mpg files anything you want and change the menu selection title in DVD Architect.
What I have yet to figure out is how to put just one mpg file into DVD Architect and have it play when inserted into a player without having to choose the only option available. I use Studio 9 for making those!

In DVDA, when creating a new project, select Single Movie as the type of project. By default there will be no menus and the video will automatically play when the DVD is inserted in the player.

An alternative is to set the DVD Start Item to be your video instead of the main menu. That way the video will play when the DVD is inserted in the player and when it is done the player will go to the main menu. Just right click on the video and select Set DVD Start, or click on the star icon above the media list and select the video you want played first from the list.

Thanks, Paul! I missed that, and I'm sure there's a lot more I've missed, but I have it now and appreciate the help.
