I have authored a project with 4 chapters on a DVD disc and they work fine... but, when playing the DVD, at the end of each chapter played, it reverts to the menu. Is there a way of authoring so when you are playing the DVD it will just play through like a movie?
Sounds like you have four movies (files) rather than four chapters within a movie. To rectify this, either:
a) Put all four movies into a single file and bring that file into DVD Architect instead of the four individual movies. Create chapter markers if you want them.
b) Bring all four movies into your project and set the End Action for each movie to link to the next movie you want played.
c) Bring all four movies into your project and create a Playlist; add all four movies to it.
d) Create a music compilation, and add all four movies to it.
I recommend option "a." Note that options "b" and "c" will still result in four movies rather than four chapters. They should play as you want so long as the viewer lets each one play through, but you may get unexpected results if they try to skip around chapters.
I never actually do option "d," but I've heard that works well, also.
Thanks, Rob. I think option b would work best for this case. It was a situation where I could only do a couple over a few month period, so that's why I have 4 movies... what you all suggested here makes sense, and in the future, I'll plan on doing one long movie file instead of seperate ones on the DVD.
Just be aware that with option B, there will be a slight pause between the 2 movie clips - unavoidable using this technique. The length of the pause will very depending on the DVD player and how the movies actually get placed on the disk.
