They seem to be selling 1tb for $140? I know street price on those should be closer to $80.

I just bought a few Hitachi 1tb for $85.

A couple of months ago, I got a "green" WD 1TB from NewEgg for $69. 32MB RAM but 5400 RPM. Before that a WD 1TB for $75 and it was 7200 rpm. Managing SATA connections and power is the issue now ...

If it helps anyone, after doing a bunch of research on anandtech and others, I came to conclude the WD Black is a great drive and bought a 1tb for near $100.

Then I bought a WD Green 1TB for slightly less, and found it performed nearly the same. and is quieter. and has less heat. Just bought one for $84 I think and it really does well.
