I have just authored a website save for a short Flash video still in production. To act as a place holder I have inserted a Vegas Ad. based on a submission I made to the VASST countdown contest. Check it out at

........and let me know of any problems as I have only tested with the latest IE6.

Firefox 1.5.0.3 says I need to install Quicktime.
The problem is that I'm already running the latest version.

Thanks Mike. I wonder why it would say "needs QuickTime" when it runs on FlashPlyaer8? Anybody?

i just tried it on Firefox and I didn't get that message. Lets see what others find.

Seems fine in Firefox 1.5.0.3 rs170a you may need to update your Flash plugin.

It does not validate as XHTML transitional . Throws 31 errors. So you may want to visit the validator and run through the list. It still seems to display fine but it must be running in quirks mode.

FIrefox says the same thing to me Michael- I need to install quicktime even though I have it. Does firefox get confused with flash/quicktime? The flash counter video shows just fine.
IE7 beta 2 shows the page just fine.

So what tools did you use to build the site?

Photoshop?
Dreamweaver?
Flash?
MH_Stevens wrote on 5/9/2006, 5:10 PM
Dreamweaver, Flash8 Video Encoder (to encode the Vegas QT movie), Photoshop and Fireworks to set the file sizes.

Played fine on Mazthon Browser (Explorer based).

you may need to update your Flash plugin.

That's up to date as well. The Vegas clock plays with no problems but I still get the message "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page". Strange.

Does everyone hear the Swarmandal?
jrazz wrote on 5/9/2006, 8:57 PM
I heard it in IE7 beta2 but not in Firefox. (Assuming it is the sound that plays when you first click to the site.)

To TomE re Validation Errors

Most of the 31 validation errors you mention are in code inserted into my site by credit card processors and third-party shopping carts or <embed> errors that I have not got to the bottom of yet.
