Its almost worth signing up on their forum just so I can cast my vote in support of Vegas 4. It was interesting to read about his render times. I had actually thought about getting the RT2500 because I assumed it rendered in real time as well as displayed in real time. I guess I'll just stick to Vegas by itself.

There is nothing wrong with hardware accelerator cards, if you work under time constraints and must output your show as soon as it is cut together. The inherent weakness with most of the low end cards is you are stuck with Adobe Premiere as the one and only editing tool (Pinnacle Pro One apparently uses a proprietary editing program that is not bad). A news stringer would have trouble using Vegas as the his/her editing tool unless the PC's processor was super fast. There are BetaSP shooters up here in Alberta who are still using the venerable Pinnacle DC50 for cutting news. If it were possible to use Vegas with Pinnacle products or the RT 2500 et al. Premiere's market share would decrease dramatically.
