Chien great web page for Vegas projects

I incourage everyone to upload their projects on Chien's site, http://www.chienworks.com/media/vidfact/ Last night I watched every project listed and it was nice to see what others are doing with Vegas 3.0.

Chien, I think you should add a comment link to each file so veiwers can give ideas and critiques....That would be awesome! It would kind be like those band web sites
where you post your song and you get ratig points.

Thanks Randy!

The comment & rating section is already in the works. I'm also going to add my own G, PG, etc. rating to the files as well. I don't really want to censor anything based on content, but i do want people to be aware of what they're going to be getting into before they watch it.

Sadly, i may have to discontinue the streaming function. My poor little 896K server connection is being stressed like never before. It's not a problem to have you folks looking at stuff, but the problem is that lots of you look at them over and over and over again! :) I may switch to download only so that you will watch it again from your own drive. But we'll see. Maybe it's just the initial excitement that's making this so popular and it may taper off soon.

Hi Kelly,

For what it's worth I think that download only would be just fine. Most people working with video are going to have a fast internet access or a lot of patience so the fact that you would even offer your site and space is a big plus in my opinion.

Two peso worth...

Chienworks,

Thanks for all the great work on this website!

But don't forget whose idea it was when you start selling ad space ;-) ...just kidding.

Great stuff!

I only had time to look at the smaller files but Duck Strike is really funny. Well done Frank.

Chien:
Great examples. Thank you for this web page.
I have downloaded and viewed most of the examples.

I sure would like the complete file for:

hammer45-audreys_graduation-wmv.wmv

It seems to have a problem after 1:43 but is
a excellent example of a video with stills.
I would like to see the complete file.
Thanks,

jpresley

Chien-

Maybe if you request people to Zip their video files that will solve your problem.

Yes great sight!

I am able to view the streams & downloads at work,
but at home they crash my system, everytime.
are there any tweaks, or adjustments I can make?
I would really like for my family to see what others
do w/ vegas.

Hmmm. I'm just a simple programmer, not a systems guy. But, have you tried just right-mouse-button clicking at home and choosing the menu option to save the file to your drive? This should just do a file copy and shouldn't cause your browser to try anything it doesn't already do 50,000 times a day already. Once it's saved to your drive you can then open it in Media Player.

That is very strange!
I often have axactly the same problems as you with wmv files crashing my system. For example I couldn't view the link to the Jazz movies that were mixed from 7 cameras a little while ago. But for some strange reason I had no problems viewing those Chienworks movies that apparently crashes your home machine...
What is really going on here?
Microsoft, why are you doing this to us all the time ??

It is strange....

When I tried to view Cheinworks video at work I got a 'Invalid syntax error'...(error 800401E4). I did get an error at home too, but I'm not sure if it was the same. Seems to be a WMP error.

But, I clicked on Cheinworks link later, and it played fine...???

(BTW, it didn't matter if i hit DL or ST)

:)
