Chienworks? I want to Upload a sample Problem Issue?

Grazie wrote on 12/29/2004, 2:16 PM
Kelly I'm still haunted by a faultering RAM Preview. I've narrowed it down to PAN crop. Kelly should I upload to test bench OR the Vegas Video sharing site?

I'd like our Chums to see what I've been getting . .driving me nutz! More than normal . ..

If it's not a finished work, but more of a troubleshooting thing, then testbench@ is probably a better choice.

Eureka!

For me, not for you. When I heard you say "tools - build ram preview" I finally got what it is.

For you, the only thing I could notice after watching the video was that you have a grid line really close to the first sample and I wondered if the snap to grid setting had anything to do with it.

I set my ram preview to 1MB and I got it to loop for 3 frames.

Thats all I can come up with.

Well, I just moved the clip - away from any grids; Quantize on or off; started Building before the clip and beyond; moved Pan/Crop keyframes away from the beginning; Snap to Grid ON or OFF. Just played with altering RAM to 712 . . same result. Ypou saying you get 3 frames on 1mb RAM setting .. . now that's interesting.

I don't get 3 frames per MB though. 128MB gave me 103 frames.

"I set my ram preview to 1MB and I got it to loop for 3 frames." . . Did I misunderstand? G

I'm not sure it would help much, but how about a *veg file and a checklist of project/preferences settings? I'm trying to figure how to duplicate the problem.

I don't suppose you changed anything prior to this occuring? Have you tried a Windows System Restore to a previous point? Sorry about your continuing frustration. Darryl

For what it's worth I don't use RAM preview much but last time I did I also noticed it didn't work right. It seemed to run through the highlighted area OK but still wouldn't playback at full fps.

"Yah see wot yah problem is here Grazie? You gotta a 1/4 whitworth thread on yah FX. And yah gotta have a 5/16 if yah wanna the Gaussian Blur to work! [Spit] That'll cost yah 40 quid [ hits Plasma screen with greasy monkey wrench ] "

Aahh, OK got it, the sync cursor switch is the culprit

Reproduced it, looks like 5.0c will be the only solution to that one
