Thanks for the advice but there is no "enable scene detection" under vidcap/options/preferences/capture (there are 11 options but no "enable scene detection". Are you looking at Vegas or maybe a different version of Screenblast Movie Studio? Alternately, is there a way to use bins to keep clips from being displayed separately in the media pool? I have 20 hours of video, and when separated into clips the media pool becomes too crowded. Many thanks

I'm looking at VidCap for ScreenBlast Video Capture 3.0 that comes with Screenblast Movie Studio 3.0b. Under Options / Preferences / Capture the first item here is "Enable DV scene detection. It's checked by default.

I've never looked into bins. I wasn't even aware whether Movie Studio had them or not. However, if it's just the amount of thumbnails in the media pool you could switch to List view instead and you'll see only the file names.
