Choppy playback on MPG files

I have a 500MB file captured (from super 8mm transfer system). Now that my plugin is registered, I can import it into the media pool and drag it into the video timeline. When I press play, the video plays until the marker reaches the right side of the screen and then it jumps to the left and starts overs. When this happens, the preview becomes so choppy it's not worth the time as the video timeline frames are redrawn.

What am I supposed to do to make it quit doing this?

Was your orginal capture in mpg1 format? We found that even though we could import mpg1 files, the quality was so bad that it was not worth it. Try re-capturing the video in VF in uncompressed avi format. You can then produce the video in any format while maintaining the orginal captured format.
