Choppy Playback when added second pci video card

i am currently running a 1 ghz dell system with 512 meg of ram and 2 7200 rpm harddrives. i have a 64 meg video card as my primary card in my agp slot. just last week i added a second card, an ati 16 meg pci card. every thing installed with no problem and has been running very smoothly. just recently i opened up a project with about 16 audio tracks, which ran fine before (i have had up to 28) but now is choppy and i have dropouts. does anyone know of any setting that i need to adjust for this second monitor?

thanx
lynn

maybe an IRQ bottleneck? That's my guess. Search this forum for "IRQ" (beware, many posts).

i am running a similar config. it took many many combinations of cards before i found two that work together flawlessly. some of the problems i had were, corrupt video, slow video, freezing, etc...

finally i found two cards that have no problems co-existing.
NVidia TNT2 or Geforce2 MX
with
Matrox Millenium II (old)

soon i'll be testing the new ATI Radeon 8500 which seems to have a lot of promise, but i have NOT tested it yet with vegas. it is a single card solution instead of two separate cards.
