choppy video

Hi
Im using VideoFactory 2.0c and Im geting a lot of dropped frames (choppy video). If I capture the same video with Ulead VideoStudio 4.01 it does not happen.
What can be wrong?

My system consist of: Atholn 1700+, 256Mb ram, 64Mb Nvidea Gforce2 400,
firewire card, 2 HDD one for aplications and one for video (video HDD is
60Gb 7200rpm ata 66), JVC GR-DVL805 camera.

BTW I got the audio problem solved (it looked like a glitch)

I had a lot of dropped frames on one capture, so I noticed I hadn't turned off all my background programmes - virus scanner, firewall etc, plus even programme scheduler. When i turned them all off capture didn't drop any frames.
