I'm capturing video from a Sony DCR-TVR80 DV Camera onto a P4 1.8Ghz 512MB Computer. I'm saving to a 100GB Partition on a SCSI-3 HD over a 100Gb fibre channel connection. When capturing using VV4.0, it says there are no frames dropped (sometimes 1 or 2). When I view the file in Media Player, or with Dynamic RAM, it skips considerably, yet when I watch the video on the LCD screen on the camera, it looks perfect.

I'm pretty new to video editing (i'm actually setting this up for a co-worker), and I was just wondering if I was missing something? Any input would be much appreciated.
