Chroma Key in Vegas?

How can I proceed to make a chroma key effect. For example a personal with a blue background in front of a wall (to mix it with another moving background). Thank U

just right clip on the clip, select event fc, and use Chroma Key.
Or, hit F1 to goto the help and search for "chroma".

Suggest you use a green chroma background with mini-DV. It works much better than blue.

Set your video of your subject in front of green screen on the timeline first. Underneath it place your background video on a different line. Click on FX/Chroma Key and Select (green) for most projects and drag and drop the effect to the subject with the green background. Blue is often worn as in Jeans and is therefore not good for so many video projects. Chroma blue is said to be better for skin tones, so if you can plan the shoot and wardrobe, use a blue background. Otherwise stick to green. Most people don't wear it? Peter Pan is a different story. Adjust the green on the FX to match the background. Your Preview should show the two as one. Magic!

1. Green screen subject on top
2. Background on bottom
3. Drag effect to the top line (subject)
4. Adjust color
5. Use the preview as a general guide.

Remember you will need a good monitor to really see if the chroma is adjusted correctly. The first thing you should check is things like hair. You are sure to get this detail messed up once or twice in your life!
