I'm working on my first chroma key shot and I've got a 12' by 24' muslin green screen canvas hanging from a huge support system. I have a few 100 watt shop lights doing the lighting at the moment.
Close up shots are best obviously because of lack of good lights(on the way). My question is this: when I attempt to key out the subject, the key seems to work but the subject is left slightly transparent. Here are three samples of a shot of this guy at work.
http://staging.csmg.com/pmi/miser01.jpg - the orig shot.
http://staging.csmg.com/pmi/miser02.jpg - orig + secondary color corr plug
http://staging.csmg.com/pmi/miser03.jpg - keyd with a background
http://staging.csmg.com/pmi/greenScreen01.JPG - set up
See how the clouds come through him? What is that about? Is it just a bad key? I want to cut out a solid person!!! If I want to mess with transparency I'll composite. I've tried using two tracks and used the top one to show just the mask and then mask the next one but that didn't work either.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
