Cineform Codec Does not Render

cinefilm wrote on 6/28/2015, 3:14 AM
I installed the new free cineform codec and is attempting to render a test file. I tried both quicktime and avi using the film scan and high quality setting in YUV 4:2:2. Vegas 12 gives an error
"An error occured while creating the media file. No compatible video codec was found". Tried GPU render on and off, re-installing the codec, did a restart and still nothing is a no go. Any ideas?

This might be the same problem discussed here:

That thread will direct you to download a missing file. Worked for me.

You have just solved a massive headache for me. I had this exact same problem. I was desperate to render out to Cineform from Vegas to import into Resolve. I always got the "can't find codec" message until I followed the thread on the other forum you mentioned. Now FIXED. Just to make it easier, here are the instructions:

Download the file http://software.gopro.com/PC/renderVFW.exe.
Locate the following folder path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Cineform\Tools.
Place renderVFW.exe into the Tools folder at the above location.
The issue should now be resolved.
