Cineform Connect HD for Sony Vegas 5

I just purchased the Sony HDR-FX1 and I am very interested in purchasing Cineform Connect HD for Sony Vegas 5 to edit the HD video. My only problem is what to transfer it on to. If I burn it on a DVD doesn't that lose all the HD quality as HD is much higher than DVD. Does DVD2 Architecht support this as well?
I was hoping someone could help me with this because the only thing I can do is attach my camera to my customers HDTV in order to show my HD video.
Thanks, Eric

While you may lose the HD quality, it will far surpass what you would have had with MiniDV as you are starting with a higher source. You can always output to Nero Digital H.264 AVC (if you have Nero Suite) or WM9 HD WMV. Currently there are no players that support HD-DVD but that will change the second half of this year.

Actuallly there is at least one commercially available DVD player that will play Hi Def wmv files: http://www.iodata.com/products/products.php?cat=HNP&sc=AVEL&pId=AVLP2%2FDVDLA&ts=2&tsc=.

You can use Vegas to prepare a Hi Def wmv file, burn that to DVD, and play it on this player or watch it on your computer now.

Bob, check out NeroDigital and the new Apex player too. AVC capable, high def delivery on a set top. Since they're in Europe, it's likely you can get one in Oz, too.

Thanks,
the Apex stuff usually turns up here under another name but I'm sure I can hunt it down. Failing that a phone call to Taipei should get me something.
