As 9.0a hasn't been released yet, we don't know.

Thanks
I was wondering whether there is going to be a need to purchase "NeoHD" $499US to continue encoding with Cineform codecs in Vegas 9 long term?

Why do you need Neo HD? Vegas Pro 8.0 had was less functionality than the $99 Neo Scene supports so you could purchase Neo Scene and have more functionality than you had with Vegas Pro 8.0. Also, Vegas shipped the 2.x version of CineForm and they are up to version 5.x now. If you are working with CineForm intermediaries a lot, upgrading to Neo Scene is a worthwhile purchase IMHO. I use it a lot to go from Vegas to After Effects and back (something you can't do with just the built-in CineForm codec).

While Sony can ship the older codec, it is 32-bit only, so JR suggestion is a good away to go for the lastest codec and 32/64bit support. You should consider Neo HD over Neo Scene if you can use some of the most advanced filtering and the First Light application -- the core codec functionality is very similar.

Thank you for your replies. It sounds like Neo Scene will do the job.
I use Vegas primarily to convert Video Files (manly QTs) to a format that runs in my Nuendo systems for Film and TV sound post.

I will purchase Neo Scene now..

I have Purchased 1 x Neo Scene, waiting for activation.
Only trouble is I will need 3 licenses, as I move between 3 computers(studios). I often render a Video file on a computer that is free(not running Nuendo) in readiness for a session.
Vegas is good because I can have it loaded on 3 machines as long as I only run it on 1 machine at a time. If I do need to have 2 machines going I would run V8 on the second computer. So hopefully there will be on going support in Vegas of some sort in the future.

As long as you don't need to render back to Cineform from Nuendo, then the free Neo Player should be adequate on the other systems. You only need Neo Scene on the computer you use to create the AVI files.

Thanks
I do need to encode AVIs on which ever (1 of 3) system (studios) that is not being used.
