Cineform Intermediate - Flashing Pink Line

Xander wrote on 8/1/2005, 6:42 AM
When I render to .avi using CF intermediate, every now and then, I get a flashing pink line a few lines from the top (never anywhere else). Thought this was a playback issue, but when I re-import this and render to a HDV .m2t, it is still present. If I render directly to .m2t skipping the CF, then there is no issue. I use the standard HDV project settings, even when rendering. Has anybody else experienced this?

I am running Vegas 6.0b on a P4 D 840, 2GB RAM , ATI X850 256MB, 250 GB SATA HDD, Win XP Pro.

I noticed this too. I have purchased connecthd from cineform directly and am using the newest version (I am not at the editing machine, so I can't say which one it is). When using hdlink itself to convert the files, I don't experience this problem, but if I export from virtualdub to cineform, I have exactly the same problem with the pink line. As I noticed the problem only yesterday, I haven't contacted cineform support, but they are very nice and helpfull folks, so it might be worth contacting them

Dan, maybe you could comment on this ?

Sorry, I've been out of the office for a few days -- I'll look into it, although I've haven't seen it.

Good find guys, it will be fixed in the next release. It will not effect any conversion that uses HDLink to convert the M2T files. The subtle pink on the second scan line only occurs with the VfW codec which HDLink doesn't use.
