Cineform looses Aspect Ratio

I've been using Neo Scene to create avi files. With VP 9 I've started having problem with the pixel aspect ratio of my media changing from 1.3 to 1.0 whenever vegas looses focus and regains focus.

If I close the project and reopen it everything is correct. However it is a pain to have to reload the project everytime I switch to another app.

I did a test and swapped my original m2t files for the cineform avi files and the problem goes away.

Has anyone else run into this?

AVI files (apart from DV files via Sony DV codec) do not store the AR (or interlacing). Not only Cineform AVI files but also other AVI files such as HuffYuv. As a workaround, Vegas guesses based on size in pixels etc. and sometimes gets it wrong (e.g. Vegas guesses based on NTSC usuals aren't always good for us PAL folk).

The "losing focus" thing - might possibly be solved by setting the following Preference in Vegas:
Options > Preferences > General > "Close media files when not the active application" = NO
(I think the default is YES i.e. checked)

Thanks for the info. Changing that setting did fix the problem. Would this be considered a bug in Vegas?
