I've seen some recommendations by Neo users not to update the Cineform software in the middle of a project. Anything to that?

I had a very bad experience doing this. I would actually use this as a blanket statement and don't change anything on your system in the middle of a project. Of course that is just my 2 cents.

Don't change anything? Certainly an argument for that when everything is working well. Haven't had a problem updating Cineform provided uninstall before loading the upgrade. And you can re-install a previous version if you do get trouble.
