Cinescape II is not a replacement for Cinescore, they are two completely different kinds of products.

Cinescape II is a collection of Acid loops, etc, intended for use as elements in constructing soundtracks using Acid. (This is in effect a manual version of the automatic process that was embodied in the now defunct Cinescore product.) Cinescore II is a follow up to the earlier Cinescape loop collection details of which can be found here.

There only real link between the two products (Cinescore and Cinescape) is that Cinescape is by James Johnson who was also responsible for many of the Themes that were available for use with Cinescore (and in my opinion, the James Johnson themes were consistently the best of the Cinescore themes).

We are still waiting for the promised replacement for Cinescore. As far as I can tell no official information about it has ever been issued by Sony, except for the announcement at the time Cinescore was killed that a replacement was under development.

In the meantime you could achieve similar results using Acid and loop collections like Cinemascape, but you would have to do all the compositional work yourself, rather than have Cinescore do it for you automatically. This allows greater flexibility, of course, but also requires greater compositional skills and effort from you.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the information. Like the flexibilty, but liked the simplicity of Cinescore. Composing is not a strong suit for me. Not sure if I want to get into buying the whole loop collections too. Cinescore is working for me in VMS 10 HD Platinum for the time being.
