Cinescore - is this a way to use it in 64bit?

Ok, I know that Cinescore will not run in VP9 64bit, but I was wondering how it would go if the 64 bit project was rendered out and then imported back into Vegas 32 bit for the music. My idea is to set up the chapter markers, stills, transitions etc in 64 bit, render out, import into 32bit and then create the background music with Cinescore in the 32 bit version. Will this work?

That will work but it's the hard way. Just open your project in 32 bit Vegas, add your Cinescore part, save, then open back up in your 64bit Vegas. You can go back and forth between the 32 and 64 bit versions as you need. A project saved in one will open in the other. I work primarily in the 64 bit version, but go back to the 32 bit version every so often because of a codec or filter. It really is no big deal.

was thinking of using it on a new project - but can't get it to install on win7/64bit. am i missing something?

or should i give up on a dead dog and look at sonicfire?

Cinescore installed fine on Win 7 64 bit for me. (Upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium from XP 32 bit). I am flipping back and forth between Vegas 32 and 64 just so I can use Cinescore as described in this thread. Q6600 8GB RAM.

hi dxdy,

did you do anything special with your install?

mine keeps terminating early and when i click cs it gives me 'program not installed correctly'?

all versions of vegas have loaded faultlessly, and i would so like to try cs on this project (playing with sonicfire but i find it sort of kludgy and not at all well designed).

any suggestions out there before i resort to my trusted (but now sounding rather dated) cd library collection?

Once you get the hang of it Sonicfire Pro is OK, clunky but OK.
There's a fairly large library of music which has certainly paid for itself and you can get cue sheets. I haven't a clue how that works out with CS music.

couldn't you frameserve your video from 64-bit vegas in to cinescore & then just save your music as a wav file?

I believe if you hop projects between 32 and 64 bit versions, and your project includes any plugins which only work in one version, saving in the non-compatible version will delete all instances of that plugin, including keyframes -- so beware.

ushere,
did you install Cinescore by right-clicking the setup file and chosing "Install as administrator" (or whatever this is called in any English version of Win 7)? If not, I'd suggest to do so as it's often solving installation problems.

Cheers

hi darkframe,

i would have (having experienced 'problems' before by not doing so), but there wasn't any option on right click for 'install as admin'., nor did the install icon have the 'shield' logo on it....

did yours?

DUH!!!! once i tried stopping installing from the .msi and used the setup.exe......
