Clicks & Pops durring recording recoding only....

I am using Vegas Pro(208) and Have Vegas Vid in the mail (I
hope someone will tell me my problems will dissapear with
Vegas Video... I'm really hoping)

I experience pops & clicks when I record. What it really
is... is a drop out of the audio every 30 sec to 1 min when
I record - which sounds as a click during playback.
Playback and mixing works great, its only when recording.
I've been rellagated to using N-Track to record with and
dropping my files into Vegas to do all of my mixing. Here
is my setup:

FIC 601 motherboard(440BX chipset),PIII 500, 128 RAM,
UDMA/100 7200rpm audio only drive, UDMA/33 windows drive,
Aardvark Aark24 card, Win98 SE, 3D Banshee video w/16MB
RAM, promise Ultra100 IDE controler

*I have turned down the hardware performance of my video
card.
*I have defragged till the cows have come home.
*DMA is checked for each drive.
*I upgraded my audeo only drive from a UDMA/33 to a
UDMA/100 +(promise ultra100 controler)
* I have the most current drivers that I can find for my
Video and Audio cards
*I've tried minimizing Vegas while recording
*I've tried turning the display waveform option off

I am now wondering if I did the right thing to buy Vegas
Video... I thought for sure the hard disk speed increase
would solve my problems. I guess I can continue to record
raw tracks in another application, but this is very
inconvienent - not to mention I figure I'm paying to be
able to record & mix.... not just mix.

Does anyone know what other potential causes of audio
dropouts (clicks) while recording could be?

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down...

Tim Burton

I had read in the past that some BIOS setting could cause clicks &
pops. Does anyone know which types of settings can do this?

Thanks... anyone.

Hello Tim.

This is correct - unfortunately I am not familiar with which exact
setting would be need to changed for your computer's configuration.

We suggest contacting the Aardvark company, we feel that they would
be able to help you resolve this.

Thanks!

BRAVO AARDVARK!
They posted a new version of their driver on 8-14-2000 that takes
care of the "drop outs" I described earlier. For the money, the Ark24
is the best thing on the market - if you are looking for 8 in/8 out,
built-in ADAT and SPDIF options.

Thanks Kevin! I thought this was a Vegas issue.

Can you use the adat and analog ins at the same time on the aark24?
The specs on the website are very vague.
