Clip art question

I'm trying to put a clip art image on a Checkerboard Horizon as part of a title. I've tried the compositing selections but the best I can do gives me black bands down each side of the clip art image. The bands take up about 15% of the image. I know I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out. I've tried opening the image in Adobe Photoshop and erasing all of the white around the image, but that hasn't helped so far.

TIA

Can you crop it out using Pan/Crop?

You may need to right click the image, go to Properties, and then select Media, then choose Straight Unmatted or Premultiplied. Make sure the file is in a format that supports transparency such as TGA, PNG, TIF or GIF.

Thanks SPOT for the response. That's probably what i need to do. In actuality, I just started doing random things and one of them worked. Now if I could figure out what I did!?!
