i have a tape that has various clips on it such as my sons performance at school and a trip that i took and so forth. I would like to batch capture these clips and have each section go into it's own folder on my hard-drive with scene detection. should i create bins to do this or can i tell vegas to capture to seperate folders for each clip on my harddrive. i know that i should use only one tape for each event but i am trying to save money. Thanks in advance.

I don't think vegas that kind of capability(Don't quote me!) If I were you I would create my own bin. That's what I do.

Not a expert easy, but what I seem to find is that you can have files anyplace pretty much and the .veg file keeps track of where they are as you bring them into your project. When you capture or render a file, you can tell it where to place the file. I usually create a folder ahead of time so I have it preplanned where things will be going. Just check your Capture file management or Render As locations when you do it. With clips, renders, audio all over the place, I still have to really work at documenting what is where.
