If you are familiar with the Internal preferences, you can turn it off there.

Dave,

Under OPTIONS/PREF/VIDEO?
If you mean there how many check marks down? I can not find it.
If not how do you get to "internal"

Thank you in advance.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. You can mess up other settings if you aren't careful.

Select the OPTIONS tab, hold down the SHIFT KEY when you click PREFERENCES>

On the upper right will be a tab that says INTERNAL. Click on that tab. In the search box at the bottom type in CAPTION. One entry should come up. Change to FALSE.

Be careful of the settings here, you can mess things up really good.

THANK YOU DAVE! This is great to know and this saves me time. I wonder if having closed captioning makes rendering a little longer?
